We are beginning to prepare for a very busy summer. Our Holiday Groups Program preparation is in full-swing and we are very excited! The classes will be a great mixture of nationalities and the trips around Los Angeles are going to be so much fun!

Currently we have 10 Nationalities represented in the school among our 139 Students. We extend a warm welcome to all the students studying English with us!
I have studied English in my own country, but come to Geos academy has been a really different experience because of the various opportunities that I have to improving my English. First of all, here I have had the advantage to be in a completely English environment, because I have native speakers teachers, the family in the homestay and all the people that I know outside Geos, and this also make you improving your English because you get use to thinking in English all the time. On the other hand the TOEFL course that I am taking is great, because it has more emphasis in the skills than in specific grammar topics. For me this is a big advantage, because I want to take the TOEFL and in this test they ask for skills but not for specific grammar. You probably can have a good grammar but if you do not have the proper skills, you will not be able to answer it, and that is why i think this course is great.

The students and staff went to go watch David Beckham and the LA Galaxy play an awesome soccer game!
The students from Saudi Arabia also hosted a wonderful lunch and introduced the other students and the GEOS staff to many types of wonderful Saudi food!
We started using the new edition of the Top Notch books! The students and staff are very happy with the change and the books are a wonderful resource!
Please our new teacher, Rene Luna!
Hi, I’m Rene. I’m quite happy to be at GEOS L.A. I’m a veteran language learner and teacher. After earning a M.ED. in TESOL in Japan, I remained in Tokyo teaching at the university level. I enjoy walking my dog, Max, twice a day. He’s trilingual, like me.
It’s with great sadness that we announce that our Registrar, Alissa Olgun will be pursuing other opportunities as of May 13th, 2011. She’s helped GEOS immensely and we will miss her.
