March 2011 - Newsletter “The GEOS Insider”

March has been a great month at GEOS Los Angeles - South Bay! We have had many new students arrive and the school is enjoying the Spring weather! We are also very excited to announce that we expanded our computer lab!

The term comes to a close at the end of this month, March 25th. Students are advancing very well and we have had a large number of students successfully move into University programs this month. St. Patrick’s Day came with many festivals and parades and the wonderful weather provided us with great days for whale watching off of the Redondo Beach Pier!

For more information on day-to-day activities, please find LA GEOS on Facebook and “friend” us! You can also find us under our username GEOSLosAngeles on Youtube.com!

March 28th is the beginning of our new term and our new books! Top Notch has come out with a new edition and we are very excited to get our hands on it and dive into it! It is wonderfully expanded with new listening and reading sections, more grammar, and many new activities! The old ones were wonderful and the new ones are even better! The new term also brings a new class: Advanced TOEFL with the Cambridge series! Our current students are eager to advance to University courses and we are happy to help! This class is open to students who place at the upper-intermediate to advanced levels.

GEOS Los Angeles also offers monthly TOEIC testing! This month the date will be April 9th! The deadline to reserve a seat is March 31st.

We are also looking forward to the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day on April 17th! There will be many events and activities held on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica.

The students asked, and we have listened! Student ID Cards are now available! Get Student Discounts on Food, Bus Rides, and much more!
Cost: $25 for the first card and $35 for replacement cards
