Spanish Language Program

In the Beginner Spanish course students will develop basic communicative skills such as introducing themselves and others, expressing feelings and emotions, expressing needs, using public transportation, ordering food in a restaurant, shopping, describing daily routines, and making simple small talk on such topics as family, friends, weather, money, etc. Students will be introduced to the cultures of Spanish speaking countries.

In the Low and High Intermediate Spanish Courses students will continue to develop their communicative skills both in speaking and writing. They will develop their ability to make small talk on familiar daily topics, learn how to tell stories, ask for favors and permission, make complaints, express preferences, and other inter-personal tasks. Students will also be given reading and writing tasks that will advance their comprehension and ability to use Spanish in meaningful ways.

In the Advance Spanish Course students will be given more opportunities to express themselves more freely in practical situations and develop stronger reading and writing skills. Students at this level will learn how to ask for and give information, give advice, ask for help, express personal feelings as well as discuss such topics as politics, travel, and sports.
