GEOS Los Angeles helps me for the first steps to conquer my shyness because my English is not that good. My opportunities to grasp words, phrases and speaking came by visiting shops, trying on clothes, buying groceries, having small talks with my host-family and students.

Hi! My name is Rod and I'm from France. I was a student at GEOS for 3 months and I guess it was a smart move to come here and not a waste of time at all. GEOS Torrance is such a small and lovely place where you can choose to learn English in your own pace. The whole staff is composed of friendly and kind people who are always there to help you about any kind of problem related to classes or not. The classes are not too big and that create a comfortable atmosphere, unlike UCLA extension which was my first English school which was great too, GEOS classes offer much time to the student to express themselves not because it's a better school but just the way that they made the classes give much confidence to us, the student, to speak loudly in front of the class. Like I said before UCLA extension was my first English school, they help me to build a strong vocabulary but maybe because the class was little bit too crowded, I couldn't be able to improve my speaking, I think it's important especially for foreigner who are shy and even more for beginner to be in a situation that they can be able to speak without wondering about anything, and that's what GEOS does, put yourself in a comfortable situation to be able to express yourself. So it's a different kind of teaching, both are good in the way they teach. If you want to be in a school with a few number of student (from everywhere, Brazil, Italy, Turkey, Korean, Japanese, French...haha and even more) which looks like more an academy, GEOS is the place for you. Off course the location is just almost perfect, it is Los Angeles... but more than that, to me GEOS looks like more a big family, with is number of student, you can feel yourself at home, and it's important to feel like people are taking care of you, especially when you're missing your family. For me, definitively a good and an unforgettable (people) experience. Thanks you all and I don't forget to mention my perfect-ROCK-host family who makes me feel myself at home, and took care of me, I'll never forget my first Thanksgiving with them!!!

LA is a good location to access to the core cities, like SF, San Diego, Santa Monica. Also, driving takes you only 4 hours to get to Las Vegas. As you know, LA is one of the most exciting cities in the world. Why? Because there are lots of things to do. Watching NBA games at STAPLES Center, sight seeing in Hollywood and Universal Studios always makes you excited. In addition, you can make many friends from other countries as I did. Anyway, it will be a good experience for you to learn English and travel with your new friends.

Hello everyone. Right now I'm studying English at GEOS. I can explain about GEOS right now. If you guys came here, you could meet good good good friends and teachers. The teachers are very kind. They'll help you with anything. For example, 2 days ago I got a parking ticket. I had to pay money for penalty. But I didn't know how to pay money for penalty. So a GEOS staff member helped me. Then I got over my problem about the parking ticket. By the way, if you are over 21 years old, you could go to the night club. California has many good night clubs. I think you'll like it. Why am I studying English right now? Because I will go to film school after GEOS. So I need to learn English! There are no Japanese people there so I'm studying English very hard everyday. Anyway, if you a goal of learning English, you'd better come to GEOS. I hope you'll come here soon. See you later.

I came to America to study abroad for the first time. When I was in Japan I felt anxious because I couldn't understand America's image. The mountains and the sky look different from the U.S. and Japan, The road always has planted trees and grass. So I was impressed to see the beautiful scenery. And I think American are very friendly and funny. that I want to cherish this encounter. the American University can develop originality because American University has a lot of majors. I think oneself can to study it deeply. The teacher is adapt to the students pace and kindly teach to it students. The lesson content is also a easy to understand. So I'm used to a little spoken English. So I thought I need to study hard at home. My homestay family and teachers, and my emotional support and great experience and many thanks to those friends.

Hi. I am Masa. I have been in Geos for 5 months. Before I came here, I worried about a lot of things whether I can improve my English, get along with my friends or host family and get used to American life... But now I really enjoy studying English and am satisfied with Geos. So I didn't have to worry about anything!!! Actually my English changed a lot. Of course instructors are so nice!! They know how to teach languages. It's different from Japanese teaching style. That's why I confused first time. It's much more practical lesson like speaking and listening. I really like this style and I think good way to study English. Every student is so friendly and they talk to us easily. That's why we can study in good atmosphere. And I hardly never feel home sick, because of these reasons. We learn not only from instructors but also from friends and host families.I love Geos!!!
